Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum, bi-rahmatika

Dua for Mercy and Assistance
Transliteration:- Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum, bi-rahmatika astaghith, aslih li sha’ni kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ‘ayn.
Dua in Arabic:-
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Translation:- O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify all my affairs for me, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
Hadith Reference:
This powerful supplication is mentioned in Sunan An-Nasa’i (10465) and Al-Albani graded it as Sahih (authentic). The Prophet (ﷺ) taught this dua to seek Allah’s help in all matters.
Meaning & Benefits:
“Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum” – Invoking Allah by two of His greatest Names, emphasizing His eternal life and self-sustaining nature.
“Bi-rahmatika astaghīth” – Seeking aid through Allah’s infinite mercy.
“Aṣliḥ lī sha’nī kullahu” – Asking for rectification in all aspects of life.
“Wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī” – A plea not to be left to one’s own weaknesses, even for a moment.
When to Recite:
In times of distress, anxiety, or need.
Morning & evening for protection and divine assistance.
When seeking guidance or improvement in life.
